It is not possible to take a bad picture at the Grand Canyon. We had sunshine, clouds, rain, sunsets and all the pictures are fabulous. Even in October the crowds are huge. Jim and I were amazed at how many foreign tourists are visiting our National Monuments. We welcomed them. They are always a joy to visit with.

Another amazing event that we experienced at the Grand Canyon must have been some planned event. I saw a lady carrying a type of pet carrier strapped to her front like a baby carrier. I asked what she was carrying. When I looked inside it was a parrot. To my surprise he said "Hello." Several stops along the rim drive we saw birds in various carriers. Their owners were taking them to the rim to view just as any other tourist. Quite amazing!

While at the Grand Canyon we learned that Balloon Fiesta, a two week event in Albuquerque, NM was taking place. We tossed it over in our plans and decided we could not miss the event.
