The first annual Great Strait Sale along scenic Hwy 112 was great fun. Hwy 112 runs from Port Angeles to Neah Bay with views of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The garage sales were far and few between along the 61 miles of Hwy 112 but I found a treasure. This year the sale was mostly business along the way but I can see that it will grow into a big event. At a bed and breakfast I found 4 beautiful cup and sauces with wildflowers and birds that was produced by the National Wildlife Federation. My steal for $4. Another store at Clallam Bay everything was $ .25 to support the city firework fund. I found a white wire fruit basket for the RV. Besides all that fun the store was offering free pineapple upside down cake and cookies. Jim loved that.

We turned back home at Joyce and made our way around the north side if Lake Crescent. There at a church we found Krispy Kreme donuts for sale. We had quite a day eating our way home. We made our last photo stop of the day along the Sul Doc River to check the natural salmon cascade. This is our second trip to the cascade and neither time did we see any salmon making their way up the cascade. We were hopeful. Sport Fishermen all along Juan de Fuca Strait were catching large Coho’s. We suppose what fish make the inlet steams are stopped at salmon hatcheries.

Our last stop of the day was at Forks, WA. I am just about finished with Twighlight, the vampire love story that takes place there so I picked up the second book. The Twiftway Grocery Store there makes a wonderful Ceasar Chicken Salad that we love. Henceforth I will call it my Twighlight Salad. Here is what it contains if you want to try it at home. White meat cooked chicken breast cut in strips, cooked bow tie macaroni, fresh raw cauliflower, broccoli, tomatoes, zucchini strips, celery, and sliced black olives. Toss together with Caesar Salad Dressing. Ummmm!
