Happy Birthday wishes to my cousin, Patty Morgan, who lives in San Antonio, TX. She and I along with my three brothers grew up together in San Antonio, TX. She is the closest I will ever have to a sister and has the sweetest personality. Jim and I wish you a very Happy Birthday. We had to get a prescription for Jim today. He has been having problems breathing in this high altitude and while I was waiting for the prescription I found this special birthday wish on a Leanin’ Tree card: “With every thought of you that flutters through my mind, happiness and thankfulness seem to intertwine. Wishing you a bright and beautiful birthday.” So there! Maybe I’ll send you the card next year!
The Silvertip Pharmacy has only been open since April of this year and it is the only pharmacy in West Yellowstone. The pharmacist told me “You have very good insurance.” I replied, “Yes I do. I am a retired Federal employee.” Guess she is not used to seeing seniors with good insurance. There was an idea being pushed around to pattern National Health Insurance based on Federal benefits. Maybe it is time to write Congress or push our two Presidential Candidates to get behind better health care for everyone in the U.S.
It’s time to get Squeek, our cat’s, nails cut again. We had them cut right before we left Conroe, TX. He keeps getting caught up in the Wal-Mart runners we bought to protect our carpet. The carpet in the RV is beautiful beige deep pile but the color is not a good choice for an RV. Perhaps we are just too messy. At any rate we seem to track dirt into the RV especially around the driver and passenger seats and up and down the hall and around the table and chairs, well everywhere!
We went back to see Old Faithful again. It did not disappoint. This time we watched it from the Old Faithful Lodge. The crowds are getting larger and we are seeing some full signs on the campgrounds. There is only one campground in Yellowstone that has electric and water hook-ups and it stays full. That is the Fishing Bridge RV Park. It’s designed for hard-sided units only, with a maximum length of 40’. There are four other campgrounds where you can camp but they only offer restrooms, a sanitary dump station with no utility hookups. Some have pay showers and coin laundry.
We are looking at a new route to Oregon; it would include Glacier National Park. Jim is not interested in driving the RV over the “Going to the sun Highway”, so we are looking at camping close and making trips out in the Saturn, as we have here in Yellowstone. Keeping the RV in one place has made good sense, not having to move and hook the Saturn, and we found a pay for five and get two days free deal. Jim thinks it would add an extra 400+ and three days in the RV, then back on our original route. We travel only three to four hours a day in the RV. That way we are not too tired and can enjoy the sights. We need to make up our minds in the next two days!
