Scarredy Cat

We were planning to get away today but the RV and towing package weren't working properly. Have to take the RV and Saturn back to installer for the unified braking system to be tweaked! We have a new departure date of Thursday, June 19, 2008. RV is getting washed and waxed today. First lessons of RV ownership: there is always something more to be done!

We have great neighbors who are helping us keep our schedules. Mason, who lives behind us is watching the house from that angle. Lavern, across the street, will keep an eye out. Jim and Rebecca next-door neighbors are always helpful. Douglas Begin, an industrious 13 year old, has agreed to water our yard and feed out outside cat, Scarred Cat. We had to take a picture of her so he could identify her. She came to our house several years ago and is a really sweet cat but always disappears when the grandkids come over, hence the name, Scarred Cat. When Douglas and his family came to meet her she, of course, disappeared. Wal Mart loves us. I bought 108 cans of Fancy Feast and a 20 lb bag of dry food.

Squeek, our inside cat is going with us. He went to the vet last week and had his nails trimmed. I think he knows something is up because he will not leave Jim out of his sight. Squeek has never traveled before. When we first put the halter on him he fell over and could not walk. He has progressed nicely and can now walk with the halter. We are letting him wear the halter with the leash attached. He is not objecting too much!

Thursday was my last day of work at Hewitt. It was sad and exciting. I will miss everyone. Thanks for the great luncheon and going away gift. Can’t say I have ever worked for a finer organization or more generous and inspiring co-workers. I WILL BE BACK!
